Highway and Community Clean up
Apr 22 2026 12:00AM - Apr 22 2026 12:00AM
Location - Simms, MT
The Simms FFA Highway Cleanup is a hands-on community service project designed to teach students responsibility, environmental stewardship, and civic engagement. Members volunteer to clean designated stretches of roadway, removing litter and debris to promote public safety and a positive community image. The activity encourages teamwork as students work in groups to cover larger areas efficiently. Students also develop leadership and organizational skills by planning routes, coordinating supplies such as gloves and trash bags, and ensuring proper disposal of collected waste. Beyond physical cleanup, members learn the importance of community service and environmental responsibility, reinforcing lessons from agricultural and leadership education. By engaging directly with the local community, the Highway Cleanup strengthens the chapter’s presence, fosters civic pride, and helps students see the tangible impact of their efforts on the environment and public spaces.
